I spotted this video yesterday showing Zahle guys trying to reinvent the Harlem Shake dance in a hair salon. I can’t confirm if it’s a recent video or not but it’s quite hilarious and it could easily go viral. Let’s call it the “Zahle Shake” and see other hair salons in Lebanon do the same lol!
Speaking of Zahle, they’re still celebrating online the fact that they have 24/7 electricity and I believe the people running the EDZ Facebook page deserve an award for the slogans and videos they are putting, as all my Zahle friends can relate to them and are enjoying them.
Here are the last two videos shared:

Meanwhile, generator owners are still upset and decided to come up with a boring Facebook page to answer the EDZ people. It’s definitely better than attacking and destroying electricity transformers.
i don’t get it. Najib correct me if i’m wrong, but isn’t EDZ a private company? or is it a part of EDL?
if the latter, why having a name other than EDL?
if it is a private company, what would make it different than the rest of the generator owners in Zahle?
Marc, I’m from Zahle and I’ll reply to your question.
EDZ is a privately owned company, it has been struggling to get the license approved for almost 10 years. This license enables it to operate the generators at full power and with exclusive use of the poles and all needed underground facilities.
What makes it different than the privately owned generators is the fact that the electricity bills are cheaper. (even cheaper than those of the official EDL, with average monthly costs between 15-50,000 maximum, it has 24/7 maintenance staff that reply even faster than the official governmental bodies (you know what i mean ;)), along with up to date safety measures. Not to forget that the power plant is in the middle of the Bekaa valley away from houses and with minimum pollution. Also, the documents issued by EDZ can be used as official documents when applying to certain loans and benefits.
All in all, instead of paying 150$ and even 200$ for 5 amperes, we are now paying around 20$ 🙂
