Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, inaugurated the first digital gates at Beirut’s airport today as part of a project aimed at enhancing aviation security and streamlining procedures. This initiative is a joint donation from the German Federal Police and the Danish Embassy through the International Organization for Migration, and it consists of three phases:
– Installation of security gates for boarding.
– Installation of retractable queue barriers.
– Installation of pre-boarding and immigration gates at passport control exits.
Any effort to facilitate procedures at the airport and enhance security is highly welcomed. It is equally important to ensure that the General Security staff managing these systems are properly trained and vigilant.
