I was surprised to see an ISF officer in the report complaining about the separator and how the authorities should fix this problem the soonest. It’s like an employee telling his bosses that they are not doing a good job.
In all cases, and until the separator is fixed, a good idea would be to put some signs to alert the drivers to slow down specially at night. By the way, the Dora (Facing the Forum De Beyrouth) and City Mall (Maritime road) separators are no better and should also be fixed.
Najib, with all due respect to the post, what ur saying is not accurate. the problem is the lack of proper maintenance. the ISF officer is merely saying that more than 50% of car accidents occur on less than 10% of roads. this is due to the laziness of either the municipality of that area or the majless inme’ wel i3mar when highways are involved. it is not the ISF job to maintain roads, and “authorities” is not one entity.
I will give u another example in the same context, u see roads totally dark during the night with no lighting. is this the ISF fault?! nope again the municipality.
KM,
The ISF is related to the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities so it’s all in one circle. I am not saying we should blame this specific ISF officer but it’s weird to hear him complain about this matter on TV. The Ministry of public works is usually concerned with highways and municipalities with inside roads and signs and stuff.
Ive seen more than 10 accidents on this highway because of this thing
and they are not capable to do anything about it
We usually put signs. We always have signs. They are made of cement blocks in the middle alerting that a separator/pot hole is ahead ….
Hello Najib, you may be seeing this officer ( Captain Michel Motran) wearing an ISF costume, but actually you cannot react to this as being an ISF . Michel is founder and activist at YASA , his function now is chief of the traffic control center . all he does 24/7 is working on improving road conditions after attending several training and earning Master degrees in the US and Paris about this matter. So what he was saying was totally true , he pointed to the problems technically that are causing accidents and casualties.

Nicolas,
I know what he is saying is true and I agree with him but if he’s chief of the Traffic Control Center and cannot reach out to the authorities, then we have a big problem at hand.
Congrats to him on this promotion and Let me know if we can help anyhow 🙂
And it would be a good idea for LBC to tell us who this man is because it’s great to see him entrusted with that position.
