According to the cost of living survey by Mercer Human Resource Consulting, Beirut ranked as the 75th most expensive city worldwide in 2011, out of 214 cities included in the survey, while it ranked 80th last year. Beirut ranked 3rd most expensive across 18 surveyed MENA cities, while it ranked in 4th position last year.
