After 14 years, 1,312 blood drives and over 104,679 blood units donated, Donner Sang Compter has decided to close down due to a lack of funds primarily but more importantly due to a lack of collaboration across the various stakeholders. The man behind this amazing initiative, Yorgui Teyrouz, left a heartfelt letter on Facebook reflecting on DSC’s amazing journey and raising concerns regarding the work of blood banks, the related government agencies among others.

I’ve been promoting DSC’s initiatives for as long as I can remember and it saddens me to see them shut down after such an incredible journey.

Yorgui and the entire DSC team are true heroes and we will forever be grateful to what you’ve done.
