I stumbled upon this video of a reforestation initiative organized by Aaqoura's youth and the town's environmental committee with the help of US Aid, US Forest Service and Lebanon Reforestation Initiative. Over 17,000 seedlings were planted since 2016 to make Aaqoura even more beautiful ecologically, attract more nature lovers and more importantly create a sustainable environment for future generations. Update: The ship has arrived but I asked several friends of mine and power outages are still. I thought we're getting 22 or even 24 hours now. What happened? When the first Turkish power ships set sail in 2013, the aim was to help temporarily with the electricity crisis while we build new power plants and enhance the existing ones. Five years later, we're still suffering from severe outages and are bringing in further power…

The news is over a month old but I just noticed it. Those who wish to apply for VISAs to Australia, Denmark, France, Italy, Switzerland and Great Britain can now head to the new TLS offices on Martyrs Square. It's a great new location, way more convenient than the one in Verdun or near Horsh Beirut.
