I am looking forward to watching Nadine Labaki in this new Lebanese movie . Caramel or “Succar Banet” was one of the best Lebanese movies I’ve seen and has earned many awards locally and internationally. She’s now the main actress in that new movie directed by Georges Hachem.
Here’s a storyline provided by imdb.
Noha is about to get married. Her family is relieved to see her take advantage of this last chance before officially becoming a spinster just like her sister. Everything seems to be going well. However, on this special Sunday of August 1976 in Lebanon, on the same evening her elder brother is organizing a dinner in her honor 15 days prior to the wedding, Noha changes her mind
Rsasa Tayche or Stray Bullet is showing at the following theatres.
Finally, something worth going to the movies for. Before I moved to Beirut, one of my friends here told me to watch Caramel. I really believed that movie played a big role in making me leave Miami for Beirut..
I personally didn’t enjoy it much. Caramel was way better. But the acting is excellent tho, the setting, the shooting, the scenes as well. Make up and costumes were perfect. I guess to like or not to like is a matter of personal choice, the movie in itself is brilliant. I believe, still, our parents will enjoy it more.
I had no idea the film has only just opened in Beirut. I saw it in London 2 months ago! Brilliant. I liked it more than Caramel.
She’s such a stunner. I like that their going back to Lebanon in 1976 but not really focusing on the war per se. I look forward to seeing this 🙂
My family saw it, they didn’t enjoy it.
Caramel is a personal favorite though…
