I found a more recent report on the beach water quality along the Lebanese coast and a list of Lebanon’s most and least polluted beaches. The report was prepared by the Lebanese Council for Scientific Research (CNRS) and examined over 30 different spots throughout the last two years (till May 2016).
Lebanon’s safe beaches:
– Tripoli (facing the Arab University – Shokor Mosque)
– Anfeh
– Batroun & (Koubba/Batroun)
– Al Heri/ Chekka (Saleh beach)
– Jbeil & Fidar
– Maameltein (facing Casino Du Liban)
– Tabarja
– Beirut (Riviera – Ain al-Mreisseh)
– Tyr
– Naqoura
Lebanon’s most polluted beaches:
– Tripoli/Mina stretch, facing Abdul Wahab Island
– Antelias (Marina entrance)
– Manara and Ramlet al-Baida beaches
Assafir shared a useful summary of that report. You can check out the full list below as published by Assafir via CNRS:

Why post such report? People will rush to these clean beaches and turn them into a dumping area.
One should check the public places between Fidar and Batroun, people are coming from all across Lebanon, spending the day there, leaving trash behind them.
Riviera and ain el mraisseh???? Seriously?! Who believes that? Anyone saw the sewage getting in the sea from hamra? No way would I jump into the water there.
But who believes any Lebanese report \statistics anyway!?
It’s a ridiculous map..beaches are clean in succession not at random order. I would believe it’s who ever had the deeper pockets and a larger investment got the ‘clean beaches’ points.
Other than Antelias being thoroughly abused by construction activity, the other two worst ones, it seems to me, are the result of too many people living too close to the water, not a result of litter. To be honest, I really haven’t seen beachgoers being especially negligent about litter.
So by all means go to the beach! Just take your trash with you when you leave.
What about Adloun Beach???
