Lebanese wines have been making headlines all around the world and more and more people are praising the energy and commitment of wine-makers in Lebanon and more importantly the quality of our wines. Back in the early 90s, there were barely four wineries in Lebanon but the number has been increasing ever since and the number has increased to over 50 (commercial wineries included).

What was still missing was an online market place that will make the experience of enjoying a great glass of Lebanese wine approachable and accessible to all and that’s what 209Lebanesewine.com is trying to achieve.

I received a small $50 coupon to try out the website a couple of weeks ago and I was truly surprised by how professional, user-friendly and comprehensive the website is. In fact, what I loved the most is that they focused on making it an enjoyable experience for all users, not just avid wine lovers by suggesting useful pairings and tasting notes and featuring wine-related blog posts.

Here’s a brief review of the website and its various features:

If you want to know more about wineries in Lebanon, there’s a section that covers wineries in Mount Lebanon, Bekaa, South & North Lebanon. You’d be surprised by how many different wineries we have in Lebanon.

Wine Club:

All wine fans can subscribe to the wine club and get access to early release bottles and monthly discovery packages. There are four different packages being offered, ranging from $75 for a 3 months subscription that entitles you to 2 free bottles of wine per month, discounts and invites, to a $500 annual subscription that offers you up to 4 free bottles of wine per month, discounts, private invites to all 209 events and “One free Wine Home Dinner”.

The prices are fair enough.

The Blog:

This is a great addition as long as it’s updated regularly. I know a lot of people who would love to know more about wine, wine pairings, what makes Lebanese wines so special, how to choose your wine bottle, how to determine if a wine is good or not and trying out new bottles.

Check-out and Same-day delivery
delivery

Same-day delivery is a great feature and it works! I ordered a bottle of wine today before 2 PM and received it within two hours. Standard Delivery (48 hours) is free of charge while same-day express delivery costs $4.5.

You can only deliver in Lebanon for the time being, but I’m pretty sure they will be expanding soon to cover Europe, North & South America.

All in all, December is around the corner and roads will be jammed everywhere. 209LebaneseWine.com will be very convenient for those looking to buy wine bottles for dinner invites without getting stuck for hours in traffic 😀
