It appears that some wealthy and powerful investors have set their sights on Ramlet al-Baida and are planning to turn it into a huge private beach resort. This is a repeat of the Daliyeh scenario that saw a lot of people protesting against it but in vain. Moreover, Lebanese Environment Minister Mohamad Machnouk was against fencing the Dalieh but he wasn’t able to do anything about it.
Privatizing Ramlet al-Baida is wrong and should never take place and the Beirut municipality should be the first one to stop this project. I don’t care if it’s for Hariri or Hezbollah or Jumblatt, Ramlet al-Baida should remain a public beach.

I feel your pain. However; as quixotic as your dreams and other good people’s might be, it is futile! You cannot fight the mafiosi!
In your mind Lebanon; or rather Beirut…or rather a few stretches of land that you deem safe to go to; is bought and sold. You should wake up before living somewhere else becomes a forgone dream…
It is a brothel and a cesspool. Don’t be fooled by Gemmayze or the 30km stretch from Beirut to Batroun’s vitality for the rich…
Anyways good luck. Going Vegas! Now that’s fun!

Do what exactly? Pointing out whats happening is already something few people do. I always help when i can but in this case i cant do anything except talk about it
Make a change, inform yourselves about the Laws of private vs
public property and fight for it
There is a difference between public property and private property, if “ramlet el bayda” has a real owner with all his papers then he can do what ever he wants with his land because he have the right to enjoy his investment or the investment made by her parents before him, but if the land is of public property or belongs to the municipality then i am not in accord to such kind of projects that may harm our historic and iconic places. We as citizens should not interfere in the private property but we can do it on public property and more we can oppose to privatize spaces that today are owned by the nation

check his text and the main keywords that most of our society cares about
grandiose , leisure, luxury!
this is what is important for Lebanese
no one admires anymore the simplicity of nature, the natural untouched beaches, mountains …
they just wanna build fake man made projects everywhere and offers us the Luxury sh*t
what a shame
if ramlet el bayda is privatized this means that Lebanon has really zero hope left and in few years
whatever is left of public beaches will disappear and will only be accessible to rich people
