Today was my first ever visit to Horsh Beirut. The 40,000-sq-metre green space has finally re-opened to the public last Saturday after almost 25 years. I went there around 1:20 pm and easily found a parking spot on the main road. The security at the door asked me for my ID and let me in then volunteers greeted me and explained the rules and guidelines to follow inside the park. I walked around for 30-40…

I'm glad that the protesters have finally decided to stop their hunger strike. Their decision to go on an open-ended hunger strike was a brave one but badly timed in my opinion as it is a dangerous protest tactic that can result in death and should only be used as a last resort.
