Verbal Violence Against Lebanese Women in Common Language & Sayings

The National Commission for Lebanese Women along with the UNFPA has launched a campaign aimed at shedding light on the verbal violence facing women in the common language and sayings. They basically reversed these sayings to make them directed against men to help expose the cultural and social violence faced by women. I know many people who use these sayings just to joke but it's time we drop them once and for all.

In Pictures: Abandoned Windsor Hotel – Aley

Our friend and talented photographer Jad Ghorayeb paid a visit to yet another abandoned hotel in Lebanon, the Windsor Hotel in Aley. Hotel Windsor was built by J. and W. Takla, and officially opened in 1924. The historic Hotel Windsor still commands attention and comprises a solid structure which survived well over the years of turmoil.
