Anywhere in the world, authorities try to support local industries by lowering taxes and offering preferential rates on raw materials, electricity consumption and other services. Anywhere except Lebanon of course. Knowing that we have over 5000 industries employing over 125,000 Lebanese families, these industries are struggling year after year due to the deteriorating economy but more importantly illegal competition and imports and no serious initiatives are being taken to help them out.
