We had Chmameet bil Laban ( شماميط باللبن) yesterday for lunch and I had almost forgotten how good this Lebanese dish is. It is not a very popular dish and I’ve never heard of a restaurant that serves it, but it’s a must-try for all Lebanese-food lovers.
I luckily found the recipe online. You can check it [Here].
I know where you can eat it… Chez Fouad, which is located in a forest somewhere off Zouk Mosbeh
In summer they move to Faraya, not sure if the menu stays the same.
The waiter suggested Chmameet and I had never heard of it, which is fine since I’m not Lebanese. But none of my lebanese friends had heard of it either. It was delicious!
I ate it at Fouad’s restaurant in Ain El Rihan. It did not look like your photo, not as much cooked, it was whiter. Do you have the recipe? It is based with garlic, onions and yogurt. Once cooked you add the eggs to cook. It will be good to have the detailed recipe.
My mom made it today lol but I didnt like that much.
Chez Fouad is a must visit lebanese restaurant. It’s not a fancy restaurant or anything, but very nice welcoming people, and something particular about their staff, is that whenever they serve a dish, they always present it while saying a sentence that rimes with it. it’s funny to some and a bit cheesy to others hehe
Yes, the menu stays the same.
On the road to Faraya, just facing the road leading to Mayrouba, there’s a descent to the right, there’s a big road sign with lots of names mentioned on it, his is “Fouad Khalil”.
It’s totally worth it to try it.
During winter,he moves to the bottom of a valley in 3ein Al rihane.
I’ve been hearing a lot about Fouad’s restaurant. I found the sign on my way to Erzel the other day. I should be trying it very soon.
hehe yes you should. But when ordering, make sure not to order too much meza, cos the grilled platters are yummy 😀
