The new US Embassy in Lebanon will remain in Awkar and will be built over an area of 174,000 square meters at a cost of around $1 billion. They practically bought the whole mountain on top of the existing embassy and construction should be done by 2023.

The embassy was designed by Morphosis Architects and Alabama-based B.L. Harbert has won the tender for its construction.

I hope they’re making changes to the waiting room for VISAs. We wouldn’t mind a small garden and a more spacious area while waiting for our turn 😛
