Lebanon’s newly appointed information minister, TV star George Kordahi, called on the media in his first official statement to refrain from hosting politicians who claim that we will go to hell. He continued by asking those to let the government and calm down.

This statement was strongly condemned by many journalists and the Journalists for Freedom movement which issued the below statement:

Someone should remind Kordahi that this ministry should be abolished and that his job should be focused on getting rid of it, not promoting further censorship.
