I live in Jounieh yet I’ve never spotted this house. It is a private residence designed by New York-based architects SOMA right on the Mediterranean sea. In order to defend against the waves, there’s a mechanism that deflects them and the glass is “a patented system of laminated glazing supported by structural steel, capable of withstanding the strongest waves of these winter storms”. I would love to be in that house during a storm (or any other day of course). You can read more about it [here].
I think that’s on the frontside near the Casino, I have sushi nearby and there’s an odd-shaped villa that may be it. Surely an envious estate!
Do you know who owns this house?
This is clearly built on public property
Georges Zard AbouJaoude, BLC Bank 😉
You mean ex Lebanese-Canadian Bank….?
is this a house or an apartment ? and how much does it cost? I’m just curious
a “dream beach house” for like 2 people?
while it was built on public property. it is even setting on the sidewalk of the adjacent street.
even from an architectural point of view, in my opinion, the house is hardly an achievement, if any, very mediocre…
