Looks like London Taxi is starting to get infected by the Lebanese Taxi driver syndrome or should i say the Lebanese driver syndrome.
I don’t think there’s anything more frustrating in Lebanon than seeing smart-ass drivers trying to take over cars by going on the wrong lane. Not only they are dangerous, but they cause more traffic and jam the roads.
Don’t get me wrong, i still think it’s one of the best taxis in town, based on what my brother and some friends keep telling me, but drivers like this one above (and below) should be fired in my opinion.
Well since the roads are not lined he is allowed to do that. Overtaking is allowed on a two way street. Usually the markings that divide the street tell you if you can or can’t overtake at certain points.
You can’t blame the taxi driver, there are no real traffic laws enforced in Lebanon. Ahamma shi el seatbelt wl fumee. Those are the only two things that are checked, wl be2e ma elo 3aze

The road is a two way road and the one way he was overtaking was jamed 1 km ahead maybe. He can’t just overtake hoping he can squeeze himself somewhere in the front.
Plus he is overtaking on a turn in the second picture.

I have read this blog with interest, as I’m one of the London Taxi clients and it is nice to see people like Najib who wants to take the initiative and highlight the disregard for the driving regulations on the Lebanese’s roads by everyone not only London Taxi. What we must understand is that London Taxi as a company is also trying to move forward by encouraging the drivers to follow the driving rules and regulations, however, you seem to have forgotten that these drivers are Lebanese and this is how they have been driving all the time previously, so as Rome was not built in a day neither will the drivers be 100% followers of the regulations, but I can assure everyone one that these drivers are safe and are adapting very quickly to the driver guidelines laid down by them company as I have discuss this many times while traveling with different London taxi drivers.
You are talking about a major problem in Lebanon which cannot be solved overnight our roads are not up to the standard required & our professional POLICE in my opinion are corrupted & unqualified to marshal the regulations (which I’m convinced is due the lack of knowledge & understanding of the rules & regulations).
At the end we got to live with what we got after all we are all LEBANESE we know the best & everything.
