Apparently the Nile Crocodile is one of the most dangerous crocodiles. I wonder how it got to Lebanon though.
The Nile crocodile (Crocodylus niloticus) is an African crocodile and the second largest extant reptile in the world, after the saltwater crocodile. The Nile crocodile is an ambush predator and can wait for hours, days and even weeks for the suitable moment to attack. [Wiki]

some saying there is some r denying who gives a shit, its going to die from pollution anyway
Its a miracle that there’s actually wildlife in Lebanon !
It’s fake! Look closely at the shape of the tail under the rock. Shame on you Al-Joumhouriah!
If the report is true it isn’t surprising, go into some of the so called pet shops in and around beirut and you’ll see a lot of exotic wildlife that shouldn’t bein the pet trade. Yes, I have seen juvenile Nile crocs in pet store in achrefieh once. When they are small they look cute and its a trophy pet, but as they get larger and more unpredictable/dangerous then people don’t know what to do except to let them go. I would be more humane to euthanize the critter than let it go into the wild.
As a biologist, exotic pet store worker, and museum tech (whine I was stateside, yes…I was all three!) it wasnt uncommon to find pacu, snake heads, and other introduced fish into local water supplies…released because they got too big for their tanks. The pet store I used to work at often allowed people to “trade in” their large fish for smaller ones if they outgrew the tank, so stuff like that wouldn’t happen. Once in a While you’ll hear about alligators or caimans being found where animals like that aren’t found natively.
I am surprised we don’t have more invasive or nonNative species in lebanon, esp since the pet trade isn’t regulated well.
