A leaked video showing Labor Union Head Bechara el Asmar making jokes on Patriarch Sfeir has gone viral today, prompting el Asmar to issue a public apology and claim that it was a slip of the tongue. On the 1st of May, four Lebanese swimmers made their mark at the Tunisian Swimming Open Masters by obtaining 23 medals and being ranked 9th out of the 80 international teams present. The brothers Ali, Omar and Adel Daaboul, along with Sevag Demerjian, from the Al Jazirah team, earned 10 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 5 bronze medals. Among the 25 middle-eastern teams present, they were 5th by making a total of 25 medals.

Beirut Municipality is set to revamp Beirut's corniche to add new bike lanes, greenery and more. Vladimir Djurovic, a Lebanon-based landscape architect, has been contracted to design the project and works should begin later in 2019 for the Ain el-Mreisseh corniche.
