Today was my first ever visit to Horsh Beirut. The 40,000-sq-metre green space has finally re-opened to the public last Saturday after almost 25 years. I went there around 1:20 pm and easily found a parking spot on the main road. I'm glad that the protesters have finally decided to stop their hunger strike. Their decision to go on an open-ended hunger strike was a brave one but badly timed in my opinion as it is a dangerous protest tactic that can result in death and should only be used as a last resort.
