Will The Newly Approved “illicit Enrichment” Law Hold Politicians Accountable?

The answer is NO. The amendments introduced do make the illicit enrichment law a much better one but the draft passed does not extend to the president, the prime minister, speaker of parliament, members of parliament, ministers and others who enjoy immunity. The bill's wording does include everyone, but Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri said we need a session to amend the constitution in order to waive immunity for everyone and that did not happen.
