Yesterday's NYE celebrations in Beirut's Nejmeh Square were the most spectacular in years and the best to date. Tens of thousands of people flocked to welcome the new year amid tight security. The celebrations began at 6PM and lasted long after midnight. Let's hope we will see this part of Beirut brought back to life after years of negligence.
