I’ve been waiting for months to get my hands on the Nokia Lumia 1020 and it’s finally here. I love taking pictures and my Samsung S4 camera is one of the best I’ve used so far, but I doubt that it will match the 1020’s six-lens 41-megapixel PureView camera paired with a Xenon flash.
Stay tuned as I will be posting a full review next week. I will also be posting throughout the week pictures on my Instagram @LeNajib.
PS: Instagram is available for Windows Phones now. It’s called Instagram Beta.
I don’t like the false promotion you are doing for this phone especially since their advertising claims that its a 41 megapixel camera, when it’s not.
It is a 5 megapixel camera with image processing software that makes it better quality. You can easily notice this in the camera settings.
It’s a shame how you blindly promote things that you get for free just to keep getting these stuff from companies without telling your readers. It really has gotten to your head.
A,
First of all if I am doing a false promotion then everyone else is as well because I’ve read 41megapixels almost everywhere.
Second of all, I never get devices for free. I test them out for a week, month or a couple of months and give them back.
Third of all, if you had read my previous posts on the Nokia, you might have noticed I am not a fan of its operating system and I am still doubtful over it.
It’s a shame how you blindly assume things before reading properly what’s been said.
A. also when he gets something for free … he give it to one of his readers …
“Now, just because the Lumia 1020 has a 41MP camera, it doesn’t mean you’re going to be shooting 41MP photos all the time. By default, you’re storing 5MP oversampled photos, and I’ll explain what that means later. If you set the aspect ratio to 16:9, you’ll be taking 34MP photos. Change that to 4:3 and you’re taking 38MP photos.
The 5MP images are the ones you can share on Twitter, Facebook or via e-mail, just as you would on any other smartphone. The big photos (34MP and 38MP) have to be transferred to a computer if you want to edit, print or share them.”

i called the GMS distributors to check it .. it’s only available in yellow and white for now, yet what shook me was that it’s at 840 USD … frankly, if it wasn’t for the camera and built in apps, i would not have thought about it , i believe 500 USD is acceptable, but 840 ????? no effing way
Actually, iJailbreak.com did some tests. Turns out the iPhone’s 8 MP camera is better.
