I stumbled upon this old piece of paper from 1994, with a whole page dedicated to Lebanon entering the era of electric trains, accompanied by a small map with all the train stops. The map is blurry and I couldn't find it anywhere else online but I did find a revised 2020 map of a national railway masterplan. The map was created by Train/Train, an NGO advocating for Lebanese railway rehabilitation & railway heritage preservation.…

Autism 123, Lebanon's only autism school is shutting down because of the economic crisis. The main reason behind the closure is the dollar shortage whereas the school has been unable to transfer any funds to the Boston-based institution they work with, despite several pleas to the banks. Added to that, the school had kept its fees at the LL1500 rate and needed over LL20 million liras to cover its fuel needs on a monthly basis.…

Lebanon is making its comeback to the Paralympic Games after missing out on the last games in Rio in 2016. Arz Zahreddine, a 22-year old runner, will be the sole Lebanese at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and will compete in T64 class in Para athletics. The most successful Lebanese Paralympic athlete has been so far Edward Maalouf, who won two bronze meds in cycling events at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games. Best of luck…
