The French Ambassador honored Lebanese humorist Samy Khayyat on Friday by granting him the French Recognition Medal, to celebrate 60 years of artistic accomplishments. The ceremony was held in the SCAC Gardens, in the French Institute of Lebanon. Khayyat's plays are hilarious, he does come out a bit weird sometimes but he's a genius and his acts are timeless. Lebanon may be famous for its food, but we're better at preparing stuff than producing it and this applies to everything. We import everything, including 85% of our food and this will not change overnight, despite all calls by political parties, NGOs, associations and others to plant our balconies, our fields and become self-sufficient in various sectors. Following the airport's reopening on July 1st, rumors spread that any amounts over $2000 were being confiscated from passengers.
