I just got back to Beirut earlier this morning and I got past the General Security just like I do every time. My renewed passport wasn't confiscated and I wasn't even warned that I can no longer travel with this passport. I've been to Baalbeck quite a few times but I never had the chance to visit the legendary Palmyra hotel there.
